The first scientist felt lighter than ever before; an apparent result of the fact that he had let go of all that he had learned since his days as a precocious child.
Emulating his colleague, the second man walked closer to the crystal and removed his gloves. He began to absorb the crystal’s wisdom.
He slowly turned to his partner and was stunned when only a deep blackness looked back at him. His face had been replaced by the inimitable blackness of outer space. The two stood motionless as they watched both of their bodies deteriorate and become one with the natural world.

Using this truth, they recognized the futility of using The Lunar Crystal to eliminate one’s enemy. The men were the universe they existed in. To annihilate their enemy would be to annihilate themselves. The only way to exist would be to coexist.
